Continental Divide
An east-west Cube Rails game that wants to feel more serious and heavier, but for me ends up merely dry and fiddly. I would pick Baltimore & Ohio without a second thought.

Continental Divide is another east-west Cube Rails game that tries to stand a little more “seriously” and heavily than its cousins. I understand the intention, but it did not win me over at the table.
Its basic direction is clearly the east-west Cube Rails formula, just with a heavier and more demanding feel. For me, though, that extra weight did not make the experience more interesting.
Rather than feeling that its mechanisms added substance, I found them dry and fiddly for no particular reason. It is one of those cases where “heavier” does not necessarily translate to “better.”
Personally, I would choose Baltimore & Ohio, tbh. It seems like the clearly preferable option to me.
