M.U.L.E. The Board Game
M.U.L.E. The Board Game is not groundbreaking, but it is an honest and enjoyable light economic game. It stays engaging without making you feel completely at the mercy of randomness.

M.U.L.E. The Board Game did not disappoint me this time either, just as it had not disappointed us in our first plays. I would not call it groundbreaking, but within the niche of light economic games it is a very good, honest production that sits nicely on the table.
At its core, this is a light economic game, with decisions carrying enough weight that a session does not feel like a mere procession of random events. Randomness is present, but it never gave me the feeling that it was wasting my time or nullifying what I was trying to do.
The interaction showed itself in practice too: the familiar insider.gr really pulled one over on us, with a little help from the pirates, and took a good, well-earned win. This was not one of those games where everyone simply stares at their own board; there was room to watch what was happening around you and suffer the consequences.
Overall, I came away seeing it as an enjoyable experience worth bringing back to the table. We packed it up, a delighted red-and-white fan showed up, we ordered food and got ready for the main course — but M.U.L.E. had already done its job perfectly well.
