Pulsar 2849
Pulsar 2849 is a cute dice-placement game with a genuinely fresh idea in how players choose dice each round. Still, its randomness, near-solitaire feel, and demanding scoring setup keep it lower on my list of preferences.

Pulsar 2849 left me with a generally pleasant impression. It is not a game that disappointed me, nor one I would refuse to play again, but it also did not become a particular favourite.
Its core is dice placement: each round, players choose dice and use them for their actions. The game’s most interesting and fresh element is precisely that dice-selection process, which gives each round its main character.
From there on, the flow feels almost entirely solitaire. Everyone is mostly working on their own plan, and there is also a fair amount of randomness. To hold up in scoring, you need to have done quite a lot of preparation early, which makes it slightly more tiring than I would expect for what it offers.
I would happily play it again, but I would not pick it near the top of my list. I think there are better games in this genre; and, anyway, Black Angel is coming soon enough to put an end to this.
