QE

QE is a very easy economic party game that does not pretend to be deep. It creates laughs and tension around the table, and I think it deserves a place in every collection.

QE is exactly what I want from a light party game with an economic theme: simple, immediate, and made for a group to have a good time. I did not come here for some colossal economic simulation; I came for fun, and it delivers that.

At its core, it is an economic game, but its approach remains super simple. You do not need to load yourself up with a heavy procedure or hunt for depth where the game never promises there will be any.

The game works as a party experience for groups that enjoy economic games. The interaction lies right in that shared, light experience: everyone gets into the spirit without being held back by a complicated rules structure.

It is not especially deep, and I do not see that as a problem. QE deserves to be in every collection, because it will get played, you will have a good time, and, quite simply, it will earn its keep.

  • Toy Battle

Toy Battle is a smart, accessible two-player game that got us properly hooked. Cheap, hugely fun, and easy enough for children to teach successfully to their friends.

  • Unmatched: Teen Spirit

Unmatched: Teen Spirit confirmed, in the simplest possible way, why the series has such a loyal following: its duels are brisk, satisfying, and ideal for sharing around the table.

  • Stone Age

Stone Age is one of those older, clean worker-placement games that still makes it immediately clear why the genre became so popular. I do not consider it equal to modern games, but it remains a very good, approachable choice with real competition.
