Trade on the Tigris
We switched from Sidereal Confluence to Trade on the Tigris after a last-minute pistoleto left us with five players, and it was not a bad trade at all. I enjoyed it again, but I want one more game at six before deciding whether the “good” strategies are actually too good.

Sidereal Confluence was originally on the menu, but a last-minute pistoleto left us with five players and sent us toward a simpler trading game. So I ended up playing Trade on the Tigris: a downgrade on paper, perhaps, but a very pleasant one in practice.
I had a good time for the second time. The game remains simple enough that you can quickly get into the trading mood, without having to carry all the weight that comes with a Sidereal Confluence.
The point where I am starting to have reservations is the strategies. After two plays, I already have the feeling that some choices may simply be better than others, and that is exactly the sort of thing I want to see whether it also affects how players end up moving around one another.
A six-player setup is the next test. I want to see it at a full table before saying it with confidence: perhaps the larger group opens up the options and changes the picture, or perhaps it merely confirms that certain strategies have the upper hand. For now, though, it is a pleasant, simpler trading game with a question mark worth investigating.
