Circadians: First Light
A cute dice-placement game with asymmetric powers and a small box that conceals a suspicious amount of material. Pleasant for a play, though it did not leave me eager to bring it back to the table soon.

Circadians: First Light is one of those games that first makes you look at its box suspiciously. It is small, yet roughly ten kilos of trachanas spill out of it: bits, things, and more things. Even more impressively, they all fit back inside at the end.
At its core, it is a cute dice-placement game. Dice go into their spaces, while the asymmetric player powers give each side a slightly different feel.
It has quite a few moving parts, so it is not the leanest or airiest thing in the world. Still, the whole experience moved along pleasantly and produced a few genuinely good moments at the table.
I would not call it an amazing game, but it certainly is not a bad one. I had a good time with it; I just cannot say I will be chasing an opportunity to put it on the table again anytime soon. 7/10
