Copycat
Copycat is one of those games that seems to have been unfairly lost on the shelf. For anyone who enjoys deck and engine builders, it remains a very pleasant—and often inexpensive—find.

Honestly, I do not understand why Copycat never became a bigger hit, or why hardly anyone mentions it. I do not feel it lacks anything for what it wants to be: it is enormously enjoyable and flows effortlessly from beginning to end.
At its core, the premise is clear: the player who builds the best engine wins. That is enough to give each round the right sense of direction without weighing the experience down.
And while one player manages to get their engine running, the others are struggling—literally—with their lousy cards. It is an image that perfectly sums up the feel of the game: some players get going, while others are trying to untangle themselves.
If you like deck builders and engine builders, I would say grab it if you come across it. You will probably find it cheaply too, which makes it an even easier recommendation. Over and out.
