Caverna: The Forgotten Folk
We ended the evening with Druids without Journeyman, and it left me with a much better impression. It seems to sit more naturally within the spirit of the original Caverna, even if some tiles are still raising a red flag for me.

To stay in the mood of new expansions, we ended with a game of Druids without adding Journeyman. My first impression was very positive: it felt like an expansion much closer to the spirit of the original game.
Mechanically, it gives me the sense that it complements base Caverna rather than pulling it in another direction. For me, that is exactly what I want from an expansion: you immediately recognize the game you love, while still having new things to explore.
The druid tiles, however, are where I am keeping a reservation. Quite a few of them look broken at first glance, so I want more plays before deciding whether they genuinely upset the balance or simply need time for us to read them properly.
If you asked me about the release order, I would have preferred this one to come out first and Journeyman afterwards. But still: as a first experience, Druids gave me exactly that familiar, satisfying Caverna feeling I wanted.
