Québec, then, a game that was first released in 2007 and shows its age a little, but overall it is interesting and—once you get the hang of it—starts becoming honestly complex. At its core it is worker placement/area control, but not in the conventional sense; on their turn players either open a new building or take part in the construction of an existing one (their own or another player's). Different rewards depending on the building's owner, different building zones with sets of abilities, and a particular cumulative scoring system each round create a very nice recipe that can satisfy all kinds of players, from burned-out armchair strategists to carefree casuals. We liked it a lot, it plays quickly, and overall it made a very good impression on us. The only negative is that the gameplay experience changes quite a bit depending on the player count; especially with 5 players it may not be as fun. In any case, a new edition is now being released by SpielWorxx, so you will not have difficulty finding it on store shelves.

  • Review Thesauros

If you’re not playing anyway, why not go fishing? A game that slipped away from the temple’s procurement department, but ended up in the collection of the other cardboard collector in the group, who, together with the now-viral little rules-explanation hand, proceeded to serve us a seafood menu. Basically, Thesauros…
