Review
Ra
Ra is a classic Knizia piece that I would happily play, though it did not blow me away. With four players, the randomness of the tiles coming out of the bag felt excessive to me.

As part of our general excavations, we brought a classic Knizia artifact to the table: Ra. It is one of those games that carries a particular old-school-classic aura, even if it did not win me over as much as I expected.
In its basic logic, it reminded me quite a bit of Skyrise, although I found Ra clearly superior mechanically. Its flow revolves around the tiles drawn from the bag, which determine what appears in front of the players.
That was also exactly where I felt my main issue with a four-player game. The tiles coming out were genuinely all over the place, and that volatility made the game feel particularly random to me, rather than giving me the sense that I could rely on a stable plan.
I am not saying it is a bad game—far from it. I simply was not blown away, even though I recognize that it is mechanically stronger than Skyrise. For me, it comfortably lands in the “I’d happily play it” category, just not among the games I will immediately be looking to bring back out.
